THE POLK STREET CRUISE IS BACK!!!
Yes… after a two-year absence, the historic Polk Street Cruise returns to downtown Amarillo, Texas on August 1, 2026!
Thanks to the efforts of the Panhandle Council of Car Clubs, and numerous sponsors, the Amarillo Area Corvette Club is once again hosting the POLK STREET CRUISE from 4 to 6 PM on August 1st.
Everyone is welcome to attend this FREE event. Spectators are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and stake out a good spot to watch the wide variety of cars, trucks, and motorcycles as they drive the Cruise Route.
You’ll get to see a wide variety of vehicles including new, used, restored, antique, modified, and treasured prize possessions as they slowly and safely drive by.
Drivers are reminded of the few, but important restrictions:
- All vehicles entering the cruise route must be STREET LEGAL and driven by a licensed driver.
- There will be NO BURN OUTS! While it may be exciting to show off your vehicle’s capabilities, it is far too dangerous for the spectators lining the cruise route. APD Officers will be present to strictly enforce this restriction.
- Drivers and riders MAY NOT TOSS CANDY OR TREATS to the spectators. Small children are known to dart onto the street to pick up these items, and it poses a serious hazard.
Mark your calendar, clear your schedule, postpone other things, and find your spot on the street or in/on a vehicle for a fun evening… 4 to 6 PM on August 1st!
